Privacy Policy
Dealect collects very little: what you type into the demo request form, so we can answer you, and general usage data about which pages get read. This page explains exactly what we collect and what happens to it.
Who we are
Dealect ("we", "us") operates https://dealect.com, a website about our configurator and quoting software for manufacturers of custom products. For anything related to this policy, contact us at info@dealect.com.
What we collect
The only personal information we collect is what you type into our demo request form:
- Your name
- Your company name
- Your work email address
- An optional note about what you make, your dealer count, or your timeline
If you try the interactive product demo on our homepage, the options you picked there may be attached to your request so we have context for the call. We also record the time your request was sent. We do not ask for, and you should not send, any sensitive personal information.
How we use it
We use your details for one purpose: to reply to your request, set up the demo you asked for, and follow up about it. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not add you to mailing lists you did not ask for.
Where it goes
When you submit the form, your request is processed on our hosting provider's servers, where it also appears in our application logs, and it is delivered to our inbox by an email delivery provider. These service providers process the data on our behalf so we can run the site and answer you. We do not share your information with anyone else.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read, so we know which parts of the site are worth writing more of. It records the page you are on, the country or region your connection appears to come from, your browser and device type, and whether you arrived from a search engine, a link, or by typing the address. It also counts when someone completes the demo request form, along with which page that form was on.
That last count is a count and nothing more. Your name, your company, your email address, and your note are never sent to Google. They go only where the section above describes.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser so it can tell a returning visit from a new one. Google processes this data for us as a service provider, under their privacy policy. We have switched off the account settings that would let Google use it for its own advertising, product development, or business recommendations, so it is used to tell us about our own site and nothing else. If you would rather not be counted, any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics will stop it, and every part of this site keeps working normally.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share anything for advertising. Besides the analytics cookies described above, the site keeps two small pieces of data in your own browser's storage: a flag that remembers you already sent a request, so the form shows a confirmation instead of asking again, and the options you picked in the homepage demo, so they can be included with your request if you submit the form. Neither is sent anywhere until you submit the form, and you can clear both at any time through your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your request for as long as we need it to handle your inquiry and any follow-up conversation. If you ask us to delete it, we will.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@dealect.com and we will take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection law, and we will honor them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be described here in plain language.
