Blog · AuthorTeodoro Pickett runs marketing at Dealect and writes the blog, covering CPQ, product configurators, and the business of selling custom products through dealer networks. He came to it after seven years of marketing and search for B2B software companies. Every article is written for manufacturers first, checked against sources a reader can open, and updated as the category moves.
Most of his week goes to people who build sheds, saunas, fences, and outdoor kitchens, and to the dealers who quote those products all day. Custom manufacturing was not the plan. It is where the work turned out to be interesting.
At Dealect he looks after content and search. The blog is mostly about how custom products really get priced and sold, because that part is messier than the software brochures let on.
One thing he cares about more than it probably deserves: a page should just answer the question. If you have to book a call to find out what something costs or how it works, we wrote it badly.
The rules behind that are written down: our editorial policy covers sourcing, dating, corrections, and how our own product appears in our own comparisons.
